An amount of $5.25 on line 10400 (Other Employment Income) typically appears when the software or CRA's Auto-Fill My Return (AFR) has identified a small taxable benefit that is not included in Box 14 of your T4 slip.
Here are the most likely reasons for this amount, even if you did not manually enter it:
Your employer may have paid a small amount ($5.25) for group term life insurance premiums on your behalf. While this is often in Box 40 of a T4, it can sometimes be reported in a way that requires it to be added to line 10400.
It could be a minor adjustment from your employer for medical premiums or a similar taxable fringe benefit.

If you used "Auto-Fill My Return," the software might have imported a small, unrelated amount from a T4A slip (e.g., from a pension plan or previous employer) and placed it there.
    • Look for a T4A slip in your tax software, specifically looking for Box 119 (Premiums paid to a group term life insurance plan) or Box 107.
    • Check your T4 slip again for any amount in Box 40 (Taxable benefits).
    • Look in the "Other Income" or "Employment" section to see if a T4A or "Miscellaneous" slip was added automatically.

    Hope this helps!
