We didnt file 2016 and trying to wrap it up. We bought the 2016 download turbotax like asked but now how do I get the old data

If you started your 2016 tax return in TurboTax Online, your next step is to get your 2016 tax data file. To do this, sign in to TurboTax Online and search for "prior year return" in the upper right corner. This should give you personalized help. If it does not, go here and follow the instructions. Note that you'll be prompted to pay for the online product if you have not already done so.

You can also get a 2016 wage and income transcript from the IRS.  While this won't include copies of your tax forms (W-2s, etc.), it will provide income information you may use to prepare your 2016 tax return.
