Question

Will I have an issue if I didn't check the "main home" box? Will they reject my eligibility to claim standard deductions? Do I need that checked to request form 6166?

I filed by mail and they haven't posted the transcripts yet, should I file a 1040-X even when I am not sure if I did check the box or not?

Can you clarify your question?  Form 6166 is typically issued by the IRS if you qualify and have filed Form 8802 with the IRS.

If you mailed in your 1040 form and are trying to see when they will process your return, you can refer to this site.  The IRS is currently processing mailed returns from April that do not require any special handling.
