I chose the option for my tax return to cover any cost . Why was I charged $53 yesterday ?

If you chose to pay your TurboTax product fees out of your tax refund, has your refund been delayed for several weeks? If so, after a period of time, TurboTax would want to be paid. If that's your situation, then they should have sent emails asking you to pay before debiting your bank account. Check any email spam/junk folders.
