Question

Why is my return being rejected due to API when the API is correct per my last years turbotax return?

I submitted my return and it rejected for an incorrect AGI. I filed with turbo tax last year and that amount transferred to this years return and I also verified my 1040. No idea what to do now

Try entering 0 for the AGI. The IRS might have processed your return later so the AGI didn't get entered in time.  Especially if you mailed it.  That works for most people. See,

If you can’t get it to efile you will have to print and mail it.

Be sure to attach copies of your W2s and any 1099s that have withholding on them.  You have to mail federal and state in separate envelopes because they go to different places.  Get a tracking number from the post office when you mail them for proof of filing.

Please see this FAQ as the rejection may be due to various reasons based upon your situation.  Another option is to enter zero in case you filed your return and it wasn't updated in time be entered into the IRS system.
