Why is IRS asking for spouse's AGI separately when we filed jointly and line 11 on the 1040-SR Form has it combined?

The AGI on line 11 of the Form 1040SR asks for AGI and we filed Married Filing Jointly so why would they reject our e-filing because they are asking for my wife's AGI. I'm very confused.

The IRS asks for the spouses' AGI to verify individual identities.  

  • This happens even though you filed a joint return. 
  • You can use the same total AGI from line 11 of your 2024 tax return.
