Why do you think you wouldn't?

Because I did not take money out. It is still in the fund. I expect to get taxed when I take money out only. Is this not correct?

No.  The money was not taken out but was given to you in the form of reinvestment in more shares.  The amount does increase your cost basis of your fund so will pay that much less when you do sell shares.
