Why cant i change my return if I havent printed it or mailed it or submitted it online yet?

I completed our personal online, but did not submit it. I did pay for it though and saved it to my computer. I did not print or mail it yet or submit it online bc it said we could not. My husband's business accountant stated we should add a schedule C to our personal return so I went in to add it and it won't let me. It appears my only option is to amend even though I haven't submitted yet. How can I add this form?

If you haven't mailed in your taxes yet, you can simply go back in and make the change and reprint. When the print and mail option is selected, the program thinks you have filed, so to get around this and get back in to make changes, please see the instructions below:

How to get back into make changes online when mailing

In TurboTax Online, sign into your account.
Select Tax Home in the left menu.
Scroll down to Your tax returns & documents.
Select 2020, and then select Add a State (you're not actually adding a state, this just gets you into the right menu).
Now you can make any necessary changes.

To add a Schedule C:

To add a Schedule C, follow these steps

Go to Business tab-Continue

Choose I'll choose what to work on

Business Income and Expenses

Profit or Loss from Business , click Start or Update.

Add Another Business.
