Some test batches were accepted early.  Everyone else gets to wait.

The IRS will not begin to accept/reject returns until January 28.  Until then, e-filed returns will just be sitting on a server, waiting.  You will receive an email after that date letting you know if your return was accepted or rejected.  It will probably take several days after January 28 for them to work through the backlog of returns on the server.

Does not matter who you file with, the IRS determines when they will poll for returns and the IRS does not open until Jan 28 except for some test returns that they poll at random from all e-file providers.

I’ve filed with H&R Block for the last 5 years and have never had a issue with being accepted prior to opening day.
