The "fix my return" option will appear if your return was rejected by the IRS or state tax agency. If you are using TurboTax Online, see if the Fix My Return option appears on the left side menu.

If your return was rejected but you didn't see an email with an error code, search for an ACTION NEEDED! email from turbotax@intuit.com. It will give you a brief explanation of your rejection and how to fix it. Check to see if the email may have been routed to a junk folder.

Please see this help article for more information including links to explanation of the common reject codes.

I did not fnd the link where I expected. Later my wife had a long conversation with an agent, and found a place to correct wrong data, but required re-entering much or all data. We filed by mail.

We at Intuit TurboTax want our users to be completely delighted with their experience using our products and services, and successful in their financial lives and businesses.

Once you file your return, as long as the settings to receive communication from Intuit don’t block it, you will see a pop-up message or receive an email with a survey asking you about your experience. We encourage you to leave your notes and comments there. “Voice of the Customer” notes and comments are read and acted upon.

If you are using TurboTax Desktop, you can also leave feedback at the Final Steps tab:

For the desktop version, I found the fix my return button after a wild goose chase. If you go to file in the top left corner, scroll to the bottom of the options and select check e-file status, the page containing "fix my return" comes up. From there it was actually simple. (2026)
