To open a *.tax2023 data file do you have the 2023 desktop software installed on your Mac computer? If so, how are you trying to launch it?

The only type of return document that can be opened without the corresponding TurboTax software would be a PDF file.

I do not know how to tell if I have the 2023 desktop software installed on my Mac. I just look up TurboTax on safari and when I click to the document it downloads. I cannot open it in the download folder.

You do not know how to look at your Mac and see what programs are installed? Have you tried clicking on Finder and then clicking on Applications?
