Question

When I try to sign my name, why does it not match or let me? Even though it is exactly the same?

It sounds like you may be referring to the Self-Select PIN, which is a 5-digit number you choose to act as your electronic signature for your tax return. However, to successfully "sign" and e-file, the IRS requires you to prove your identity by entering either your prior-year Self-Select PIN or your prior-year Adjusted Gross Income (AGI).  It is unclear what you mean by the software "not letting you sign your name", please clarify so that we can assist you.

If you are using TurboTax Online, I would suggest signing out of your account, clearing cache and cookies, and then trying again.
