What is the hold-up on Tax forms

Form 6251 and 8911 have been available since BEFORE January 1st through irs.gov. Why does the "available to file" date on TurboTax continue to be pushed out into March? I've never had to wait this long for forms.

I tried that already and they person didn't know. I'm guessing that the reason is that there is programming that needs to take place in the background. My confusion is that the online experience is already asking all the correct questions that pertain to those forms--but the actual FORM programming isn't done? i'm just frustrated that it's taking so long as I've got a pretty big refund waiting in the wings.

Yes it is related to the forms needing to be properly formatted. Even though they are available from the IRS website, they need to be formatted into Turbo Tax software.
