What if i am not sure if i have another w2 coming, and i go ahead and file what I have. Will my return be held if i do have another another w2 that i do not know about.

If I receive another w2 after I've already filed, can I file it later on and will my return be held?

First, check with that employer to see if they will be sending a W-2 (or 1099-MISC) by Jan 31,. Or did you work for cash?

If you receive a tax form after you have filed you will have to do a 1040X amended return by mail, which takes about 4 months to process.

(1) Yes, your refund will probably be held up if you do not report all of your W-2s.
(2) The IRS does not start to process tax returns until January 23rd, so why don't you wait?

Certainly, you can start entering all the various personal data that you have, and if you want to try to guess what your Form W-2 will look like and also any Forms1099 that you might receive, such as Interest Income, feel free to do so for ESTIMATION purposes only.
However, read this post to learn why others have found it to be a very serious mistake to go ahead and submit your filing before you have gotten all your W-2s and 1099s.
