For some reasson, TT not populating 1040 4a with the nontaxable amount. It is total distribution in 1099 R, Rollover box is checked, but amount is not shown. BEcuase of that IRS is rejecting saying that should be an amount there. When I try to overwrite from the Forms, it allows it but when try to e-file, it says you cant efile because of overwrite. is there a way to fix the glich? otherwise need to print 64 pages and return by mail.

Box 4a normally shows the total distribution, not the nontaxable amount, except for the exceptions that allow 4a to be blank (a source of great confusion to taxpayers).

Can you give us all the fields on your 1099-R?

How many 1099-Rs do you have?

Did you enter this 1099-R manually or import it?

I would like to have enough information to recreate your situation.
