the activation code is already linked to another account when i try to activate turbotax after i reinstalled windows 11 on the same machine
I’m running into an activation error after upgrading my machine to Windows 11 and reinstalling TurboTax Desktop 2024.
The TT 2024 software was previously activated on this same machine, but it now appears to be treating the reinstallation as a new device and it's failing to recognize the previous license association.
Issue Details:
Problem: Unable to activate TurboTax Desktop 2024 following an OS upgrade to Windows 11.
Troubleshooting already attempted:
Verified I am signed into the correct Intuit online account used for the original purchase/activation.
Attempted to "Run as Administrator" via compatibility settings.
Could someone from the support team or the community point me toward the correct process to reset the hardware ID or license association so I can successfully re-activate on this machine?
