Switching from iMac w/TT disc to Online version

Have used TurboTax ("TT") via disc for years. My hand-me-down iMac will not be able to handle the 2020 TT disc. Can  I use the 2020 Online version of TT even if I can't upgrade the iMac OS? I also got a shiny new iPad for Xmas, can I use it with TT Online? And if so, how do I get my 2019 return info imported (or will it already be there)? Thanks in advance!

First   transfer the .taxfile to the Online version using the old Mac and then you can log in from the pad.

Great! I just wasn't sure of the "old Mac" had to be able to handle a new version of TT to be able to transfer the file, apparently not. Whew! I thought "Online" may have simply meant downloading the entire program over the interne, which the old iMac apparently can't handle.

You can transfer the 2019 tax data on your computer to the 2020 online tax return.

See this TurboTax support FAQ for transferring prior year tax data to the 2020 online tax return - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/entering-importing/help/how-do-i-transfer-last-year-s-return-into-turbotax-online/01/25953
