Should I file now, missing one w2 and last paystub?

I did not need to file for 2018, and have not yet filed for 2019, but am wanting to get it done as soon as possible so I will be eligible for stimulus.

I have my W2 from my current job. My W2 for a former job was sent to the wrong address, I tried multiple times to update my address with the former employer. My last paystub was also sent to this wrong address. I know I have to contact the IRS so they can have my former employer send me my paperwork, but that is a lengthy process. Should I wait to file until I have all of my information, which will likely mean I won't get a stimulus check, or should I file now and amend when I get all of my information? Former employer is vindictive and likely to make this as difficult as possible.
Note that if/when I get all of my information I would still not owe anything, and would likely get a small additional return. I just don't know if I am allowed to file without all of my W2's.

you can use the nonfiler section at the IRS website

don't file without the last w-2, if you have no state filing you can get a transcrippt at this IRS website or contact the social security adm to get a full copy state info included

I recommend waiting until you get all of your information.

If you file, the processing of your return will probably be delayed because the IRS will flag the return for having a discrepancy from the information they have on file.

The IRS has just opened up its Filers portal.

I recommend using this portal to update your information using this link. This will give the IRS the most recent information and allow you to register for the payment until you are able to file your return.

When you file your return in 2020, you will have the opportunity to report the amount of the stimulus check(s) you did receive, and if it was less than what you were entitled to, you will receive a credit on your tax return.
