Selling stock for a loss in Canada

Hi,

I moved to Canada in 2023 and transferred my stock.   I sold for a loss in 2024. I will put on my Canadian taxes but do I need to also show on my US taxes and if so how do I do this. I am a US citizen.

Yes, you will need to report the stock income and loss on your US return.  Per the IRS, regulations, US Citizens and resident aliens are required to report all worldwide income on their US return.  See the link below for more information:
