The loss will first be used to offset any Section 1231 gain (on Form 4797).

Otherwise, you should see the loss on Schedule 1, Line 4.

if it's from a passive activity that you have not disposed of that that loss is also passive and flows to form 8582 where a determination is to the amount allowed, if any. it would help if you provided more information about the loss and the activity that generated it. There could be other reasons than the one i specified. we have no access to your return.
