That means that a child dependent on your tax return does not match the SSN, name or age that is in the IRS database that comes from the Social Security administration.    If you verify that you have entered it correctly and it still rejects then contact the SSA to verify that their data is correct.

When you do compare the name and SSN on the SS card with the name and SSN you entered on your return, be sure all the data entered is the same as what is on the SS card.

One of the Dependent Social Security Numbers listed does not match the name as reported to the IRS by the Social Security Administration.

 

If you feel this is in error, please contact your local Social Security Administration to verify the information in their database concerning your dependent and have corrections made if needed.
