Refund sent but deposit not received

Hi,

'Where is my refund' page shows my refund was sent on Mar 22. 2024.

I opted for Direct deposit.

I still haven't received my federal refund. I received my California state refund in direct deposit.

IRS asking me to file a claim because the28-day waiting period for receiving your check has expired

Please advice me on this.

Hi,

I just enquired with the bank.

The bank said they couldn't find any transaction for that amount.

They also said they couldn't find any direct deposit that got rejected or on hold.

If you have contacted the bank and they are unaware of any rejected deposit, then you may need to file Form 3911, Taxpayer Statement Regarding Refund to initiate a trace on the deposit. This allows the IRS to contact the bank on your behalf to attempt recovery of your refund. Please see Refund Inquiries for more information.
