If I enter "no" under "Tell us about any advance child credit payments" will the full child credit amount be factored in to my return (if AGI is appropriate)? My first child was born in August 2021.

Make sure you have entered your child as a dependent in My Info, and that you have entered the child's Social Security number. If your child was born in 2021make sure you said he lived with you the whole year.  There is an oddly worded question that asks if the child paid over half their own support.  Say NO to that question.

The software will automatically put the full CTC on line 28 of your Form 1040.   You still have to answer the questions correctly in Federal Review for the CTC and for the 3rd EIP  (which will show up on line 30)

Yes, if you did not receive the advance child tax credit, you will receive the full child tax credit when you file your tax return.

For your newborn child, make sure to indicate in the Personal info section of TurboTax that he/she lived with you the whole year. And your child is eligible for the Child tax credit and also the third stimulus ($1,400) as the Recovery rebate credit.

In TurboTax Online, to claim the Recovery Rebate credit please do the following:

    1. Sign into your account and continue from where you left off
    2. Click on Federal in the left-hand column, then on Federal Review on the top of the screen
    3. On the next page titled Did you [or your spouse] get a third stimulus payment?, answer Yes or No
    4. Follow the interview and answer all questions
    5. TurboTax will determine whether you are entitled to any additional stimulus
    6. Any stimulus amount remaining due to you will show as a credit on line 30 of your form 1040.

Please read this TurboTax Help topic for more information on the third stimulus.
