Question

PC version can't enter Med ACA1095 section. Error, 'Hmmm looks like we've hit a snag...revisit the last topic you were working on.'Start new went directly to 1095A, same.

Using windows version, tried stepping through entire filing multiple times. Tried starting new with just personal data and going directly to Medical, 1095A. Same error results. Used software for many years. Never been prevented from E-filing.

First, I would recommend updating your software and trying again.  Since you are using TurboTax Desktop, please log into your program and select Online, Check for updates in the top menu.

 

Then, make sure to follow the steps in Where do I enter my 1095-A? to ensure you are entering it under the correct section of the program.  The link also includes resources on contacting your health insurance marketplace.  You may need to verify the form you have is the correct form linked to your Social Security number.  If there are discrepancies, you may see the rejection message as well so it's best to confirm.

follow your recommendation but it still does not update and it still does not work.  still having the same message

TurboTax is aware of the problem and they are working on it. There might be a fix next week. Check for a software update next Thursday.


In the meantime, here's how you can work around the problem. Go to forms mode, click Open Form, and open Form 1095-A. Enter the policy number in the "Create new copy" box. Then go back to Step-by-Step mode and try again to enter the form. It will tell you that your 1095-A needs review. Click the Review button and proceed through the interview to enter your 1095-A.
