Question

on the big beautiful bill statement on overtime pay. The amount on the overtime pay was $1,339.74. I already had filed my taxes. But I didn't add this. What do I do?

simply amend - you have until April 15, 2029 to do so.

You may also want to think about if it is worth your time to amend.

 

IF your overtime qualifies (overtime that is NOT required under the Fair Labor Standards Act/FLSA does not qualify), only the 50% "premium" qualifies.  That means of your $1,339.74 of total overtime, only $446.58 would be a deduction.  If you are in the 12% tax bracket, that will only reduce your federal tax by roughly $54.  Although some states may also allow the deduction.
