Hi,

My wife and I already submitted our taxes and paid what we owed to the IRS. In 2020 we got 6 months of unemployment benefits and lots of taxes were taken out of that. After we submitted our taxes the new covid bill said some of the benefits should not be taxed, up to 20,000 for couple. What do we do now?

Wait----the IRS does not want you to amend for this.  They are sorting out a way to refund people who filed before the new law passed that exempted some of your unemployment.   At some point--we do not know when-- you will receive an additional refund for the extra tax paid on the unemployment.
