My w2 has the same amount on Lines 7 and 8 regarding tips.

No, the amount in box 8 should not be included in box 7 also.

Box 8 reports Allocated Tips...Allocated tips aren't subject to withholding and must not be included in boxes 1,3, 5, and 7 of Form W-2.

Speak with your employer and determine if Box 8 should have been blank or if Box 7 should have been left blank. It is likely an error that can be fixed easily, but talk to your employer.
