"TPG" Ended to getting my refund before me to take out $122 for filling my refund with turbo tax. NEVER been charged with turbo tax EVER. They took their money out and sent my money to the wrong bank. You'd think they'd ASK after sending money to the wrong bank but no, they then sent a check to the wrong address. Which I did have a forward on but whatever. They claim they couldn't change any address information as well which sounds sketchy as hell. I was told 4 weeks ago they sent my check back to the irs but I've since heard nothing. WHAT DO I DO?!

the fee went to Turbotax for use of their app to prepare your return. you did not use the free online version - deluxe is not free - or did not qualify.  you also checked off that any fees were to be taken out of your refund. in this case the refund goes to a third party bank like TPG where the refund is split between the fees and the balance of your refund. Your portion is then sent to the account you specified for direct deposit. if the info is incorrect, then the refund is sent back to the iRS to issue a paper check. this can take 6 to 8 weeks.

The IRS will eventually mail a check to the most current address they have on file.   So if the address on the return is no longer current mail in a form 8822 ASAP   AND make sure the post office is still forwarding your mail.
