We met all the requirements, filed jointly and have 6 eligible kids.  We got 4900, 5400.  What do we do?

OK... Same issue with us... 2 sons (2 and 5) were claimed on both the 2018 and 2019 tax returns.  We received $2900... Leaving off one child.   How do we follow up?

IRS says you will receieve a letter within 15  days of payment with instructions on how dispute wrong payments.

Not quite. This letter we'll receive in 15 days involves, "The agency plans to mail taxpayers a letter within 15 days after their payment is made with details about how it was delivered and how to report problems with receiving it." So this letter will supposedly address how it was delivered and how to report problems RECEIVING it. The problem with most of the people here is not with RECEIVING it but with the incorrect amount. Knowing the IRS, this letter will provide zero assistance and just a bunch of boilerplate language that really says nothing. Hope I'm wrong though.

Got 2400 but nothing for my 8month old baby that I claimed in 2019

Finally we are not alone! My husband files separate from me and only got $1700 instead of the $3700. Last year we just had our son on his taxes and this year there are 4 more children that we have custody of. I filed this years taxes for my husband and then 3 weeks later the IRS sent him a letter saying we were missing the 8962 form for health care so I am assuming they are going off of last years? Hopefully we can obtain some answers soon! I am about to send a letter to the IRS because customer service is closed.

Having "custody of" does not mean that they are qualified.    How are they related to you?  Were they placed as foster children?   Did you receive the 2019 child tax credit for them?

They are my biological children and yes, our tax refund includes them, as they definitely qualify

My check was short also and I want answers. I think it’s something  Turbo tax did and trying to get more money by possibly file another form for the IRS to claim our money.

I did not file with TurboTax and mine was wrong. This was the only place I saw anyone talking about there’s being wrong as well, so I joined. I don’t think it’s TurboTax, I just think it was the process.

I did not file with Turbo tax either, and they went with the 2018 return instead of 2019 that would have qualified me for the full amount.

I am married with a child I only received 2400 what do I do now?

Me too? Any answers? Exact same situation...

Same situation. Filed 2019 back in early Feb married jointly and claimed daughter born in 2019. Yet, received only $2400 instead of the rightful $2900. Missing the $500 for daughter. And there's nothing you can do about it because there's nobody that you can contact. Typical IRS...messing up and then cutting off any way to fix the mess up.

Same here....we were supposed to get 2900 counting my husband myself and our kid but instead we got 1450 every odd numbers....we dont have any debts and we are under the amount that's need to qualify......feeling frustrate as we dont have a way to ask about the error

My wife and I filed jointly with our 1 child, and our stimulus check was for $2400. Why didn’t we receive the $500 for our dependent?

https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/economic-impact-payment-information-center

For security reasons, the IRS plans to mail a letter about the economic impact payment to the taxpayer’s last known address within 15 days after the payment is paid. The letter will provide information on how the payment was made and how to report any failure to receive the payment.
