My state withdrawn is too far ahead in the future from when my deposit of federal comes in. How do I change the date? It says pending

I owe money for state but I get a refund from federal. You’re able to set a date for the state deduction from your account but I set it too far into the future. With the IRS2Go app, I was able to get a rough estimate when my deposit comes and I’d like to change the date of my state getting deducted so it’s roughly around the same day. The state says pending on the TurboTax app. How do I change the date it’s being extracted from my account

Pending simply means that your e-filed return is on its way and that the government hasn't accepted or rejected it yet. After you click Transmit now you are unable To make corrections or changes to your pending return.

Think of pending as "in transit", it's like putting a letter in the mailbox. Once sent you are unable to get back. If your tax return is rejected for some other reason you could go back and make the payment date change and then resubmit your tax return.

However, at this point the best way to change the scheduled payment date is to contact your State agency directly. Most states are willing to work with your in regards to your scheduled payment date. Here's an FAQ below with instructions on how to contact your State Agency.
