My state doesnt have ta state ID number on my w2 but if I leave it blank, turbo tax keeps bringing me back to fill it in

Several states do not have a state income tax. So these states will not show up in certain drop down lists. Leave boxes 15, 16, and 17 blank when you enter a W-2 for these states.

Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and Wyoming

Your employer will have to send out corrected W-2 forms for the missing information, but that could take some time. Since this is not a number that ties your taxes to your returns, you can enter a 1 into the box and continue entering/reviewing your returns.
