February?   Why have you waited so long to ask?   Most rejections are for incorrect AGI.   When your return was rejected the email you received would have given you a rejection message or rejection code.   But no matter why the return was rejected, the only way to file a 2020 return now is by mail.   You need to print it, sign it and date it in ink on the line that says "Sign here", and mail it in.  Expect it to take about six months or longer to be processed by the severely backlogged IRS.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

I waited so long because I just found out about it, when filing taxes for 2020, never received notification or letter or anything, the only thing I noticed was my sons year of birth was wrong. Instead 2014 it was 2012, still wouldn’t have effected the child tax credit

doesn't matter at this point. you would have gotten an e-mail with a rejection code or explanation. all you can do now is to print it out and mail it in. be sure to attach any withholding forms
