My return was $42 short including turbo tax fees, why is that?

Did you use the Refund Processing Fee? If you do, there is a charge of $39.99 plus tax for that service. The charge is from the bank that handles the transaction, not TurboTax.

Yes I was including that in my calculations. The turbo tax fees plus refund processing fee was equal to $107. Was $42 the sales tax?

$42 would not be sales tax. The IRS or State may have adjusted your return, which might explained the lower amount. If that happened you would receive a letter in the mail explaining the change in your return. The letter can take 3 to 6 weeks to arrive.
