You never claim a spouse as a dependent.  If he died in 2019 you can still file a Joint return.  You will probably have to mail it.  There is a problem Efiling when one spouse is deceased.  How did you file 2018?  As joint?

Yes we filed as joint last year

I'm very sorry that your husband passed in 2019.  You correctly filed as Married Filing Jointly.  This double the Standard Deduction that you're entitled to.  If you have a dependent child you will be able to file as Qualified Widow for two additional years.
