since it was rejected, you can add donations and medical expenses. However, unless your total itemized deductions exceed your standard deduction, you will not get a larger refund

Standard Deduction 2025
Married Filing Jointly $31,500 (1)
Qualified Surviving Spouse 31,500 (1)
Single 15,750 (2)
Head of Household 23,625 (2)
Married Filing Separately 15,750 (1),(3)
(1) Add $1,600 for age 65 or older or blind, each
(2) Add $2,000 for age 65 or older or blind, each
(3) Both spouses must use either the standard deduction or itemized deductions
For the taxpayer and/or spouse, 65 or older at year-end, there is up to an additional
$6,000 deduction computed on Schedule 1-A that carries to line 13b of the 1040
It's based on modified adjusted gross income computed on line 3 of the schedule.
It's subject to phaseout as computed in Part V of the schedule.

to try to help you with the rejection, we need the rejection code or message.
