Question

My 2025 estimated tax payments are not in Line 26 and I paid the full tax online.How to amend my return with my estimated tax payment so that IRS refunds it to me?

Can I see and edit the 1040 form directly instead of 'being guided'?

Did you enter the esimated payments?  Could they have shown up on the wrong line?  If they were missing the IRS should add them in for you and send you a refund.  I would wait to amend and see what the IRS does.

Oh,  you didn't say if you filed the original return.  Did you efile or mail it?  If you efiled it, was it Accepted?  You don't need to amend if you haven't actually filed yet.  So don't click on Amend.  Click on Add a State to let you back into your return.   You can only see and enter into the forms in the Desktop download program.  

 

To add estimated payments go to

Federal on left or at top (Personal for Home & Business)

Deductions and Credits

Then scroll way down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid

Estimates - click the Start or Update button
