What free state return coupon? Issued from where? Or are you mixed up regarding the free state software vs. the state e-file fee for the CD/download?

Lots of people misunderstand this. When you buy the CD/download with a state return included --- it includes the software to PREPARE the returns of the specific state of your choosing. There is always---always---an extra fee to e-file the state return. You can avoid the state e-file fee if you print and mail the state instead. Then you just need to pay for a stamp.

@mjwinslo-yahoo-c What do you think you did not have a chance to use? If you are talking about using the CD/download software there was never a chance to e-file a state return for free. Your software only included the program to prepare a state return. Even your "first" one would have a fee to e-file the state.
