Is TurboTax Basic available for purchase and download for tax year 2018?

Yes. Be aware that the Basic Edition does not have an included state program download, so if you later need to purchase a state return, you'd end up paying a lot more if you go the Basic Edition route. The Basic Edition also cannot import from ItsDeductible.

You can purchase Basic Edition directly from TurboTax at this page:

Or you may be able to find it an authorized reputable dealer like Amazon, Staples, Office Depot, etc. Do not purchase from an Internet search, since there are many scam sites with pirated software or which could be trying to steal your personal ID, credit card info, implant malware, etc. Don't fall for a "too good to believe" deal.

If you DO need a state program, the next higher level is Deluxe. Be aware that Deluxe comes in 2 versions--one that is Federal and State combo, and one that is Federal-only. If purchased from TurboTax, it is the combo Fed and State version. If purchased elsewhere, you have to be careful as to which version of Deluxe you are buying.
