Question

Is the option to file my state taxes later AFTER I click on the "transmit my return now" button? I have not seen the option elsewhere.

Please see the following instructions on how to file federal but not state: Can I file my federal taxes now and skip my state for later?

Hi @HelenC12 ,

I've gone through the site MULTIPLE times --- I have yet to see a page that says here are your filing options. There was one just before filing that gave me the option to review... I unchecked State... and when I proceeded to file, my state return was still filed along with the federal (which is not what I wanted). Turbo Tax will inform me if Ohio makes changes stemming from the new American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, correct? I need to make sure I will be informed should I need to file an amendment.

Thank you.

Joanne

If you are referring to the unemployment benefits that are part of the American Rescue Plan, you can sign up for progress updates in the below Help Article:

How do I get the new unemployment benefits if I've already filed my taxes?
