I am filing for someone who is incarcerated. How can I obtain his w-2 form that was sent electronically? I do not have access to his email where it was sent. I have contacted the place of employment, and they have not been able to help. Is there an alternative route?

HERE is an IRS link for help getting a copy of a W-2, however since you are trying to get a W-2 for someone else, they probably can't help. I assume the incarcerated individual would need to make the request or give you access to their email so you can get the copy.

The employer may be limited from giving a copy directly to you because of privacy laws.
