I do not have a 1095-A since he was still paying for my medical insurance, what should I do?
If you had insurance thru the ACA Marketplace and you got a 1095-A with you listed on it then you MUST enter it on your separate return. If he is also listed on that 1095-A form then you have a shared policy and you both need to enter the same 1095-A on each of your returns. You must agree on the allocation of the PTC between the 2 returns. The totals must add up to 100% and you can divide this up between you as you can agree to do. This is one of those times where you can figure both returns using different allocations and file the returns where is benefits the most between the both of you ... cooperation is required to get the best results.
