If I sold my business in 2018, do I need to purchase the Turbo Tax Home and Business again? Or can I use a cheaper version?

No, you can't use the cheaper Online products for 2018. You have to "close the business" however you may use one of the cheaper CD/Download products.
These products support business (Schedule C's).
- Online products - TurboTax Self-Employed or TurboTax Live Self-Employed or
- CD/Download products - Deluxe, Premier, Home & Business .
