Question

I used Turbo Tax and it worked GREAT! But I was surprised to see three forms 540-ES that seem to indicate CA requires me to pay estimated tax in 2017, please advise.

No questions were asked about paying 2017 tax. I have never had to pay estimated tax. I am confused.

The 540ES estimates are optional to pay. They don't get sent in with your return so CA won't be expecting them. They are just suggestions. They might have printed out if you had a big one time increase in income like from a IRA Withdrawal or big stock sale.
