Make sure that you entered their names on your tax return exactly as shown on their Social Security cards. If the names and SS numbers are correct on your tax return, then you can only print and mail the return.

You should contact the Social Security Administration to verify that the children's names and dates of birth are correct with the SSA. The IRS receives that information from the SSA. To prevent this rejection next year, call the Social Security Administration (SSA) at 1-800-772-1213 to verify their records (this is where the IRS database pulls from). If the info is wrong, please allow 4–6 weeks for correction.
