I never did a tax return how and where must I start?

Start the program and follow the prompts.

No one in the user forum can see your screen or your tax return. We cannot see what you are entering. Start by entering your personal information in MY INFO--including your name, date of birth, Social Security number, filing status, mailing address, etc. Go through all of the screens in that section first, then proceed to the section in which you will enter your income.

Do you have a W-2? Or any sort of 1099's? You can follow the prompts or ask us specifically where certain kinds of income need to entered and we can help you navigate the software.

Go slowly. Always read each screen carefully and answer the questions carefully---make sure you enter any amounts accurately--watch for decimals. Do NOT enter commas.

If you are not comfortable with using the "do-it-yourself" software you can upgrade to a "Live" version and get help from a tax expert.
