Your post indicates that you are using TurboTax (TT) Deluxe Online.  Just follow the interview. TT will claim the Earned Income Credit (EIC) for you, if you qualify. 

 

If your minimal income was reported to you on a W-2 form, you may qualify for the TT free edition. See

A 1040 is the tax return form you prepare here to send to the IRS.   If you start entering data in this software you are preparing a Form 1040.   Please look at it so you will know what you are sending to the IRS:
