Question

I must file corrected Forms 1099-K (because of ID theft) with my return. I completed Form14039 on TurboTax, which says to mail a hard copy. Why not just do it online?

I completed Form14039 on TurboTax, which says to mail a hard copy to the IRS. Why not just complete Form 14039 online?

You can't complete this form online with TurboTax.  You can only do it online directly on the IRS website.

 

Here is where to do that.

 

Once you have filed it online with the IRS you do not need to include it with your tax return and can continue to efile your tax return without it.
