Question

I'm starting my 2021 return. I noticed that on the first page there are some boxes already checked, such as "Got married", but that is wrong. Why would that happen?

I don't know why it happened, but it doesn't matter. Just uncheck any boxes that shouldn't be checked. Those check boxes don't actually go on your tax return. You'll have a chance to correct any incorrect information later. As you go through the My Info section, make sure that your marital status is correct. (Marital status is not the same as filing status.)
