Solved

I'm at a point where I have to pay for the premium edition. I've already filed my federal refund with another tax group. Is it possible to only file my state taxes through turbotax?

No, you can not just e-file your state return, but not your federal return.  You can create your federal, but not file it.  Your state return, however, will need to be mailed then.
