Solved
I am a Federal subcontractor in DC, and most of the small companies that hire me use a W2 - I think it is because they get some kind of employment tax credit. But it is my own business with my own office and expenses, and need to link this income to my Schedule C. I did it last year but cant see in TT how to do it for 2016. Thanks for any help!
If you are a statutory employee, you can claim certain business-related expenses on Schedule C.
If you are a statutory employee and need to link a W-2 to a Schedule C, please do the following:
- In TurboTax Home & Business Online, go to Wages & Income and enter your W-2.
- Ensure that Box 13 "statutory employee" is checked.
- Click Continue when finished
- Click Continue again
- Check "None of the above" if this is accurate, and click Continue
- "Any Related Business Expenses?" Click "Yes".
- Go through the interview questions.
- Your W-2 Income is now linked to Schedule C.
